Pen & Pencil Box in Light Tone Figured American Walnut and Curly Cherry Wood Veneer

This box is perfect for storing pens and pencils or desktop items. It can also be used as a keepsake box to store jewelry and sentimental items, or even as a gift or living room display piece just by itself.

The main body of the box is a light American Walnut, with a lightly figured texture. The miter splines are also American walnut although darker, and contrast the light Walnut nicely. The lid of the box is Curly Cherry wood veneer on both the inside and outside, set into recessed dadoes for strength. The Curly Cherry wood veneer give a three dimensional texture.

Both the interior and exterior box bottom is lined with a blue and white Japanese Tenugui cloth in the Tsuru pattern. This pattern is representative of a graceful Japanese Crane bird, symbolic of longevity and good fortune.

The box is finished with a hand rubbed, durable natural oil and wax blend, free of toxins and VOC’s, that leaves a beautiful sheen with a pleasing natural touch to the wood.
